In a nutshell the EasyShift app is a way for people to access small, local jobs in their area to make a bit of extra cash.
The app is available for iOS and android mobile devices, and can be found in the usual app stores or downloaded directly from EasyShiftapp.com.
It matches up local people in a particular geography to available tasks, usually fairly basic in nature, allowing them to earn some extra money on a part time basis.
People who register their interest can complete as many or as few tasks as they like for modest reimbursement.
EasyShift has been around for a good few years, and is Quiri’s way of using a mobile workforce to collect intelligence for the retail industry.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Once you have signed up in the app, you will be able to check what tasks are available in your area. The tasks are referred to as “shifts”. Some examples of places where you might be asked to perform tasks are a local coffee shop, a grocery store or a gas station. However, they are likely to all have some form of retail business associated with them, afte all it’s Quiri that’s behind the whole thing and they are retail intelligence specialists!
The tasks or “shifts” are designed to take a relatively short
After you sign up with their application, you will be able to check the Shifts available in your local area. The website says these Shifts should be available all around you, whether at your local coffee house, gas station, grocery store, and many other locations near you.
The jobs usually pay between $2 and $20, dependent on what is required. However, before you get too excited, it’s useful to point out that many fall into the $2 to $5 range!
Let’s take a look into the pros and cons of this opportunity.
WHAT’S GOOD ABOUT IT?
- It’s free to access and sign up – you can do so within the app itself, once you have downloaded it.
- The tasks or “shifts” are designed to take a relatively short length of time, so can be incorporated into parts of your day
- The tasks are touted as being simple to complete – such as taking a picture of something in-store, or giving your opinion on how a product is merchandised.
- The reimbursement is paid via PayPal, so is nice and secure – they company claims to pay within 48 hours of a task being completed
WHAT’S NOT SO GOOD?
- Having researched customer reviews across a number of different places, there are some quite negative comments being posted. Some of the more common complaints about the EasyShift App are:
- not being paid because there has been some form of technical issue with the app
- not getting timely response from the customer support team
- not enough tasks being available, or tasks disappearing immediately on becoming available
- Very few opportunities outside of major towns and cities
WHO IS IT PITCHED AT?
Anyone who wants to make a bit of extra cash on a part time basis. You need to be mobile and able to get yourself to and from the locations for the tasks.
You also need to relatively self-confident – it can take some courage to walk into a store and start snapping off pictures. As this seems to be one of the more common tasks or “shifts”, if you’re not confident doing so, then this opportunity is perhaps not for you.
Here are some customer reviews, taken from the Google Play store, which I think are a fair representation of the type of reviews you will find anywhere on EasyShift.
WHAT TRAINING/TOOLS DOES IT OFFER
Once you have downloaded the app, you are pretty much on your own. However, it is relatively straight forward and self explanatory, so no need to be a techno-whizz. This is how the process goes…
WHAT SUPPORT DOES IT HAVE?
There is customer support available, where you can find FAQs for both android and iOS devices.
PRICE TO JOIN
It’s totally free! Just download the app.
MY FINAL OPINION
When I first came across this, I thought “That sounds good in theory”! And it is good in theory – after all it’s just an app that you can download for free.
However, when I did research it I was surprised how many people seemed to have had some sort of problem with either finding tasks, or getting paid. On the flip side of that, there are also many people who have been using it for years and are more than happy with it.
I do think you need to be confident in order to carry out the tasks, so that’s something to bear in mind.
I think there is potential for small financial gain here. You won’t get rich quickly, but it might be ideal for people with some spare time who want to put that time to constructive financial use.
Given the average payout of $2 to $5 per task, make sure it covers your transport with some to spare – otherwise you’re not really gaining! There will be higher paid tasks available at times too, but they are sure to be in high demand.
